Tools

As a coach, I have constructed several tools to help evaluate and adjust my workouts. Here I will share them with you so you can also benefit from them.

V-4 calculator for swimming

The V4 calculator for swimming uses the results from your 400 freestyle to calculate appropriate swim speeds according to your aerobic capacity. Just insert the time and lactate measurements. The calculator will do the rest.

V4 test calculator for running

The V4 calculator for running uses the results from your 800-meter test to calculate appropriate running speeds according to your aerobic capacity. Just insert the time and lactate measurements. The calculator will do the rest.

T-30 min test for swimming

Picture from Heart Rules

The T30 min test helps coaches who cannot use the lactate test protocols. It is usual for coaches to have multiple athletes performing this test at once. The best way to deal with several athletes while doing this test is to count the meters and time as closely as possible to 30 min. since it is hard to pinpoint the meters and time to precisely 30 min.

That is why I made the calculator that first calculates how far the swimmer would have swum in 30 min. Afterward, it calculates appropriate swim speeds according to the different intensity zones fitting your aerobic capacity.

The DPS calculator

The DPS Calculator helps you to monitor stroke and cycle length. Add the distance, time, and stroke frequency to find your stroke and cycle.

Race analysis for swimming
